Java 6 Update 19 Problem with HuskyCT ( our nickname for Blackboard Vista Enterprise Version 8.0.3 )
Java Version 6.19 (1.6.0_19) was recently released and has created some problems in HuskyCT. Once the new update is installed, the warning message shown below appears when users log into HuskyCT, try to enable the HTML creator, use the My Computer icon, or try and load the Chat or Who’s online tools. It is necessary to click “No” on the warning screen in order for these tools to work. This will be true for each new HuskyCT session.
For a long term solution to this problem, you can either uninstall Java 6 update 19 and install an earlier Java version or change your Java settings so that the warning window does not appear. The directions for each of these options can be found on this page.
The HCT administrator sent a ticket to Blackboard to inform them of the issue. ( Can you say service pack?)
